Taking the kids on a 6-hour drive to visit grandparents next month and want something that's actually educational, not just a babysitter. We've done the usual suspects (Duolingo Kids, ABCmouse) but looking for fresh stuff. Any recommendations?
This might sound wild but my kids love Kerbal Space Program Mobile - it's actually teaching physics concepts without them realizing. Bit pricy but kept my 6yo engaged for our 8-hour drive last summer. Just make sure he can handle the controls.
we had the same problem, ended up mixing apps - 45 min of one, snack break, switch to another. Also grabbed some audiobooks from the library (Magic Tree House series killed it with mine). Honestly the app combo + audio books + maybe one new cheap toy as a surprise at hour 4 = success
Duolingo Kids is solid but if he's already burned through that, try Khan Academy Kids - way more depth. My 6yo actually stuck with the math section for months. Also seconding Toca Boca apps, they're expensive but educational without feeling like school.

lol we did ABCmouse for like 2 weeks. Honestly for 6 hours I'd just rotate between 2-3 apps and call it a win. The novelty of a new app he hasn't seen before might be worth more than actual educational value at that age.
