Best parental controls for iPhone?

Just got my 11 year old her first phone and I want to set it up right from the start. Screen time limits, app restrictions, all of it. I know Apple has built in controls but not sure if they're enough or if there's better third party stuff. Don't want to be creepy but also don't want her stumbling onto inappropriate content. What do you guys recommend?

Just did this last month with mine. Whatever you pick, make sure you're consistent. Kids will test the boundaries so knowing exactly what you set up matters.

Screen Time is solid and fairly easy to configure without being a nightmare. I set limits by app category first, then dialed in specific apps. The key is explaining the why to your kid so they understand it's not punishment.

I went with a combo approach. Built-in controls plus having an honest conversation about why I'm doing this. 11 is the right age to start understanding digital citizenship.
