Broke down and got him a phone at 10

My son's been asking since he was 8. I held out until his 10th birthday last month and finally got him a basic iPhone with screen time limits. Honestly? Best decision. He actually uses it to TEXT ME when he needs pickup instead of me getting random calls from friends' parents. He's responsible with it, checks in, and we can track his location. I was so worried it would be this whole thing but he mostly just uses it to message his buddies about Minecraft. Yeah, some games, some TikTok, but nothing crazy. Everyone acts like phones are the devil but the practical benefits have been huge for us.
