Caught my kid watching inappropriate videos

Found browser history that had some stuff that was way too old for him. He's 10. Not anything illegal but definitely not appropriate. Took away devices for a week and had the talk. Now I don't know how to trust him again. Anyone been through this and how did you handle getting past it?

Been there with my four kids and it's rough. The talk after he cools down is going to matter more than the punishment - figure out what he was actually looking for and help him understand why it's not appropriate yet. Good call taking the device though.

At 10 that curiosity is pretty normal developmentally, even though yeah the content he found wasn't right for his age. Might be worth setting up some actual parental controls rather than just relying on monitoring so you catch this stuff before he does.
