Educational apps that actually work?

Looking for recommendations that my 6yo will actually engage with instead of just mashing buttons. We've tried Khan Academy Kids (decent but boring to him), Duolingo (he got bored after 2 weeks), and some random counting apps. He loves anything with dinosaurs or space. Would prefer something that teaches real skills and not just... games disguised as learning. What are dads actually using that shows results?
