Fortnite addiction - real or overblown?

My 14yo boy plays Fortnite like 4-5 hours on weekends and maybe 1.5 hours on school nights. He's done with homework and keeps grades up (mostly B's), but man... the kid is GLUED to it. I watch him play sometimes and it's just... violent shooting for hours. I get that it's social and all his friends play, but I'm genuinely worried this is rotting his brain. Anyone else's teens into this and how do you manage it?
