Fortnite is ruining my son's life
OK maybe that's dramatic but seriously this game has a grip on my 10 year old. He's been asking to play constantly, crying when we take the switch away, not doing chores or homework without a fight. I limited him to weekends only last month and the attitude got so bad we gave in. Anyone else dealing with a kid obsessed with this game? How do you handle it?
The thing that helped us was replacing screen time with something else he actually wanted to do. Turned out my kid just wanted to compete at something. We joined a soccer league and Fortnite requests dropped by like 70 percent.
Not dramatic at all. The grip is real. My 12 year old would play 24/7 if I let him. The algorithm is designed by smart people to be addictive.
