Gaming laptop destroyed my evening routine

Got my 13yo a gaming laptop for his birthday thinking it would be good for school too. Biggest mistake ever. He's on it until midnight playing Fortnite with his friends. I've tried setting time limits in parental controls but he just shuts down the computer before the timer ends or asks his mom to unlock it. Wife doesn't back me up on the gaming thing. Anyone else dealing with a teenager who refuses to get off games?
