This might sound weird but my 14 year old had basically checked out from talking to me. Started playing Fortnite with him and his friends a few months ago. Now we actually hang out and talk while we're gaming. Not gonna lie, I'm terrible at the game but he finds it hilarious. Anyway just wanted to share something positive here since this forum is usually people asking for help.

This is huge man. I've been trying to level up my screen time strategy with my two, and honestly gaming together seems way better than fighting about it. Glad you found your way back in with him.

That doesn't sound weird at all. Gaming is the language he speaks at 14. You met him where he was instead of trying to drag him somewhere else. That's solid parenting right there.

This is actually genius. I worry about screen time but if it's bringing your relationship back together that's different than mindless scrolling. What games are you playing together?
