My 10yo wants to play Minecraft with his friends online and needs a decent headset. Nothing crazy expensive but something that won't fall apart in 2 weeks. He's got a big head so needs to fit properly. Any recommendations? Also should I be concerned about him gaming online with people I don't know or is that pretty normal these days?
Budget friendly option that still works pretty well is the PDP LVL40 wireless. We grabbed one for our 9 year old and she's happy with it.
Just make sure whatever you get has good volume limiting. You don't want him blasting his ears out during those long Minecraft sessions. Kids have zero concept of responsible audio levels.
SteelSeries Arctis Nova 1 or the HyperX Cloud Stinger 2 if you want to save a few bucks. Both solid for kids and won't break the bank. My 10 year old uses the SteelSeries and has had it for almost a year now.
Razer makes some good ones that aren't too pricey. Just fair warning though, once he's chatting with his friends online the volume wars begin in my house. You might want to set some guidelines.
My son uses a HyperX Cloud Stinger and loves it. It's durable which matters with kids and not crazy pricey. Bluetooth ones are nice too if he doesn't want to be tethered to a desk.
HyperX Cloud Stinger 2 is what I'd recommend. Not expensive, feels solid in the hand, and kids actually like it. Plus the warranty is decent if he inevitably destroys it.
Make sure whatever you get has good parent controls on the chat features. That's honestly more important than the sound quality for this age group. You want to know who they're talking to.
For that age I'd say look at SteelSeries or HyperX. Nothing too expensive but they hold up well and the sound quality is solid for Minecraft. Make sure they're not too loud for his ears though.

SteelSeries Arctis Nova 1 is solid and won't break the bank. Good sound quality, durable, and the mic is clear so his friends can actually hear him. That's what my 10yo uses for Roblox and it's held up great.
