Got my 5yo a basic smartwatch - no regrets

Grabbed the Gizmo Watch 3 for my youngest so my wife and I can call/text him when he's at school or at grandma's house. It's stupid simple (literally just calls and messages) but it's given us so much peace of mind and he feels like a big kid. Not replacing a phone by any means but it's the perfect middle ground for now. Would recommend if you're in that awkward age where they need contact but aren't ready for actual smartphones.

How much is it actually? And does it hold up to kid abuse? My 6yo destroys everything so I'm hesitant.

Gizmo Watch 3 gang. People clown on smartwatches for kids but having a simple way to reach my kid when he's away hits different. No games, no social media, just the communication part.

This is the right move IMO. Not strapping a screen to his wrist for gaming, just peace of mind that you can reach him. That's the actual value.

The 'stupid simple' part is exactly why it works. My kid has one and he actually uses it to call us instead of asking the teacher. Independence without the chaos of full smartphone.
