How do you all handle gaming limits?
My kids want to play Fortnite constantly and I'm trying to figure out reasonable boundaries. I don't want to be the bad guy who bans it completely but also don't want them on it for five hours a day. Right now I'm doing an hour on school nights and maybe two hours on weekends but my 11 year old keeps pushing back saying everyone at school plays way more. Any dads out there with systems that actually work? Using an app to track it or just relying on willpower and arguments?
Fortnite is the constant battle in my house too. What I've found is that just saying no doesn't work, you gotta give them specific times and stick to it. Like weekends only or 30 mins on school nights. The consistency matters more than the actual limit.
How old are your kids? Makes a big difference. My oldest at 11 I'm stricter with than my younger ones because he was getting too hooked. Screen time management is probably the hardest part of parenting right now.
