My 9 year old is obsessed. He watches YouTube videos about Roblox, plays Roblox, and talks about Roblox. I set a 90 minute limit and he's constantly pushing back. Are we being too strict or is this normal? Also what's a Robux and why does he need it so badly?
The obsession phase is real. Instead of fighting it we actually asked him to teach us how to play. Not gonna lie, I understand the appeal a bit better now. Still limits it on weeknights but weekends he gets more freedom.
Yeah my nine year old is the same way. We set a timer for 90 minutes on school nights and he actually seems okay with it as long as he knows it's coming. YouTube videos about Roblox I just let go because it's less screen time than actual gaming.

This is the age where you gotta pick your battles. Roblox is actually pretty tame compared to some stuff out there. We just have it be contingent on other stuff getting done first - homework, chores, etc.
