How much screen time is too much? Going crazy over this

My kids are 5 and 8 and during the school week they get maybe 30 mins of tablet time before bed. Weekends are maybe an hour or two depending on what we're doing. All their friends seem to be gaming constantly and now mine are asking why they can't have unlimited access. The teacher said they're doing fine academically so I don't think I'm being too strict but I also don't want them to resent me. What are you guys doing with your families?
