iPad as a babysitter - am I bad parent?

Real talk, sometimes I let my 3 year old watch YouTube kids while I make dinner or take a shower. I feel guilty about it but also like I need 20 minutes of peace sometimes. He's not on it all day but maybe 30-45 min a day on average. Is this damaging him or am I overthinking it?

Don't beat yourself up about this. My kids watch some stuff too, and honestly it's way better than them getting bored and creating chaos in the kitchen while you're trying to cook dinner safely.

This is such a common thing and you shouldn't feel guilty. A little screen time isn't going to hurt, especially when you're using it to handle necessities like dinner or hygiene.

You're not a bad parent at all, man. I've got three kids and sometimes you just need those 20 minutes to keep your sanity. YouTube Kids while you shower is totally reasonable, especially with a 3 year old.
