iPad at dinner table - am I being unreasonable?

My 6yo asks to bring her iPad to the dinner table every single night now. Her mom lets her do it at her place when she has them. I've been saying no but then I feel like the bad guy. We're trying to have family dinner time but honestly some nights I'm so tired I almost give in just for peace and quiet. Should I set a hard boundary or am I being old school about this?

Six year olds don't need iPads at the dinner table. She's testing to see what she can get away with and she's asking every night because one of you eventually says yes.

The fact that her mom lets her do it at her place is the tricky part. Have you two talked about having consistent rules at both houses? That's what helps kids understand boundaries.
