iPad babysitter is out of control, need to reset

My 6 year old has basically been raising himself on YouTube Kids and I'm embarrassed to admit it. Wife and I both work and the screen time just crept up. He's now asking to watch videos instead of playing outside and honestly I think it's affecting his behavior. Trying to establish actual limits but he loses his mind when we take it away. Anyone successfully reset their kids after heavy screen time? What did you do?

Hey, you're aware of it now and want to fix it, that's what matters. Screen time creep is real when both parents are working - no judgment here. My kids have definitely had their iPad phases too, but pulling back gets easier once you've got a plan.

Don't be embarrassed man, you're being honest about it which is half the battle. What if you replaced some of that YouTube time with something you two can do together? Even 20 minutes a day of something hands-on makes a difference.
