Is 90 minutes of iPad time on weekends too much for a 5 year old?

My son has been asking for more screen time on Saturdays and Sundays. We usually do 30-45 mins on weekdays but weekends he wants to binge Disney Plus or play that Toca Boca game everyone talks about. My wife thinks 90 mins total is fine since we're doing other stuff too but I'm paranoid about him getting addicted or messing up his eyes. What do you guys do? Are we being too strict or not strict enough?

The asking for more is the thing to watch. Once they realize they can negotiate screen time it becomes a whole thing. Better to set the boundary now.
At 5 they don't really need it and honestly 90 mins is stretching it. My kid asked for more too and I found that replacing some of it with actual play time made him stop asking.
