Is Fortnite actually bad for my 10 year old or am I just being paranoid?
My kid plays for like an hour after school most days. He's got good grades, does his chores, gets outside on weekends. But I keep reading about how addictive these games are and the weird cosmetics they push. He's begging me for a battle pass for his birthday. Other parents seem chill about it but my wife thinks it's the devil. What's the actual consensus here? Is he too young? Should I be worried about anything besides screen time?
Honestly if his grades are good and he's still doing his responsibilities, I think you're in a good spot. I was worried about the same stuff with my 9 year old. The key is setting boundaries and sticking to them, which you're already doing.
I think the paranoia is normal but the data you just gave me says you're doing it right. Hour after school, good grades, chores done. That's the balance every parent is trying to find.
