Is Roblox actually safe?

My 10 year old has been begging me to let him play Roblox. All his friends are on it but I've heard some sketchy stuff about predators and stuff. Anyone have experience with this? What kind of parental controls should I set up if I do let him play? Is it worth the hassle?
