My 7 year old is obsessed with YouTube and I'm losing my mind

Started letting him watch while I cook dinner and now that's all he wants. I try to limit it to an hour a day but he throws a fit. My wife just lets him watch when he asks because it's easier. I keep reading articles about screen time ruining their brains and now I feel like a bad parent. How do you guys actually enforce limits without making it a battle every single day?
