My 7yo figured out how to disable screen time limits

So my kid somehow got into the parental controls settings on the iPad and turned off his own screen time limits. I have no idea how he figured it out. Now he's telling me he's "allowed" to play Roblox unlimited. When I tried to re-enable it he asked why I was being "unfair" to him. This is ridiculous. Anyone else dealing with this? How do I actually secure these things?

Ha, that's actually kind of impressive problem solving skills even if it's annoying. My 6yo can barely work the app store, so if your 7yo is that tech savvy you're dealing with a smart kid. Might need to get more creative with the parental controls or just have a conversation about why the limits exist.

Yeah my kids have tried this too. I ended up switching to a different monitoring app that was harder to get around and also just having more conversations about why we have screen limits. The tech arms race gets old fast.

This is the future honestly. Tech kids are learning how to navigate these systems fast. You might need to take the iPad approach off the table and go back to more basic time management conversations. Show him you trust him to make good choices.
