My 8yo is addicted to Roblox and I don't know how to stop it

He gets home from school and immediately asks for Roblox. I've tried limiting it to weekends but he gets angry and sulks for hours. His mom is softer on it than me so that doesn't help. I'm worried he's spending way too much time on it and not enough time outside or doing other stuff. Anyone dealt with this? How do you set boundaries without turning it into a constant battle?

I've heard from other parents that going cold turkey backfires. Maybe try a graduated approach where you cut it down slowly rather than weekends only? Might feel less like punishment to him.

The Roblox addiction is real and I see this constantly. You might have better luck if you frame it as earning time rather than limiting it. Like specific tasks or homework done = Roblox time. Also definitely check what games he's playing and who he's talking to in there.

Eight year olds are at that age where they're trying to find their community online. He might be more into the social aspect than the actual game. That doesn't make the addiction less real but it might change how you approach it.
