My 8yo is obsessed with Roblox and I'm losing my mind

Guys I need help. My son begs to play Roblox from the moment he wakes up until bedtime. We set a 1 hour limit on school days but he throws an absolute fit when it's time to stop. I've tried timers, warnings, taking the iPad away cold turkey, everything. His teacher says he's distracted in class and I'm starting to think the constant gaming is rewiring his brain. Anyone else dealing with this? What actually works?

The begging from the moment he wakes up is the real problem. That's addiction behavior. I'd suggest trying a structured schedule where he knows exactly when he gets Roblox time and when he doesn't.

Yeah the 1 hour limit isn't holding if he's asking all day. Maybe it's time to go cold turkey for a week or two and reset his expectations. It sucks but it usually works.

Have you looked into parental controls that actually enforce the limits? Some games let you set hard cutoffs that even the kid can't override.

My kid went through this phase with a different game. We finally had to talk about what was so compelling about it and then find other stuff that scratched that same itch. Turns out he just wanted the achievement feeling.
