My son is addicted to Roblox and refuses to stop

This 9 year old kid can literally play Roblox for 6 hours straight on a weekend. I set timers, try to get him interested in other stuff, but the second he gets back on that game its like nothing else exists. I took his device away for a week and he cried for days. His mom says Im being too harsh. Are other kids this obsessed or is this a sign of something wrong?

Six hours straight is rough. Getting my kids outdoors and away from screens has been a game changer for us. Even just a hike or exploring a local park gives them something to actually do instead of sit and tap.

We had similar struggles with screen time. What helped us was replacing it with something he actually wants to do, not just what we think he should do. My son got hooked on swim lessons once he saw real progress week to week.

Man, I feel this. Three under five here and the Roblox thing is already on my radar. Have you tried getting him involved in a team sport or club? Sometimes peer pressure in a positive direction works better than just saying no.
