Outdoor play time is actually easier now?
So we did this thing where we literally took everyone's devices away for 2 hours after school and said "go outside or find something to do that isn't screens." I thought it'd be chaos but honestly my 8yo and 11yo have been building forts, riding bikes, and making up these weird elaborate games. And then THEY ask for device time instead of it being a fight. It's wild.
Not preachy or anything but if you're struggling with balance, sometimes just removing the option helps?
The 2 hour window is smart. Not so brutal that it feels like punishment but long enough that they actually get into something. My kids now ask if they can keep the devices off longer because they're actually having fun.
