Parental controls - which app is worth paying for?

Looking to set up better controls on my kids' devices. I've heard about Circle, Bark, Google Family Link. Don't want to be creepy and spy on everything but I also want to know what they're seeing and set actual limits that work. My 13yo is getting older and I want to do this before it becomes a trust issue. What do you guys actually use?

Before you pay for anything, check what your router can do. TP-Link and some others have built in parental controls. Might save you money if you already have the hardware.

Don't buy the biggest package thinking it'll solve everything. Start simple with time limits and blocked sites, then add features as you need them. I wasted money on stuff I never used.

Circle is solid and easy to use. I've had it for a year and like that it's device agnostic - works on everything. Google Family Link is free and decent if you're in the Google ecosystem already. Bark is pricier but good if you want content monitoring too.
