Question about gaming headsets for kids

Considering getting my 10yo a gaming headset so he can play with his cousins online. Good idea or bad idea? Will he just want to be plugged in all the time? Also worried about hearing damage. What age did you guys let your kids start wearing headsets?

I'd say go for it but get something mid-range that won't destroy your wallet if he loses it or breaks it. Kids don't always treat gear like adults do.

Do it. Kids that age need to be able to play together online. Plus a decent headset is way better than having him yelling across the house or the living room while he's gaming.

Headsets are great for that age if he's responsible enough to take care of it. My 10yo has had one for a year now and it's been solid for staying connected with cousins. Just set clear boundaries on gaming time.
