Real talk: I let my kids be bored sometimes and it actually helps

Took a week vacation last month and literally forgot to pack tablets/iPads because I'm an idiot. First two days the kids were miserable. By day three my 8yo and 6yo had invented some elaborate game with blankets and flashlights that they played for HOURS. No screens. Just... imagination. I'm not saying screens are evil or whatever but man, when they're actually bored and can't default to a screen, something happens in their brains. Now we do "screen-free Sundays" and yeah they complain but honestly the creative stuff they come up with beats Netflix binges. Obviously this isn't groundbreaking parenting but it genuinely shocked me how quick they adapted.
