Roblox is draining our bank account

Had to sit down with my kids yesterday and explain that spending $20 a week on Roblox "cosmetics" is not happening anymore. They genuinely dont understand that the stuff they're buying has no real value and isnt coming back when they stop playing. Tried to explain economics to a 10 and 12 year old, didnt go great. Any recommendations for games that dont have this predatory monetization model?

Man, I feel this. Had the same conversation with my kid about in-app purchases last month. The hard part is they really don't get that virtual skins aren't real value yet. Stick with it though, you're teaching them something important about money.

Yeah we set up a strict allowance system and made it clear that's their budget for anything digital. It took a few weeks of pushback but now my kid actually thinks twice before spending. Might be worth trying if you haven't already.

That's rough. My son would rather spend money on Roblox than literally anything else, so I get the struggle. At least you're catching it now before it becomes a bigger habit.
