Screen time battle with 8 year old

My kid has been asking for more Roblox time and I finally caved and gave him an extra 30 mins on weekends. Now he thinks he's negotiated himself a permanent deal. He literally made a contract on Google Docs last night trying to get me to sign it. Should I be impressed or concerned? How do you guys handle the constant requests for just five more minutes?

30 extra minutes doesn't sound like much but it becomes 30 minutes of something else not happening - homework, reading, playing outside. You already know the answer here, even if admitting it is tough.

I caved on this same thing last month. Here's what I learned - set a hard limit and stick to it next time. The pushback is real but it's worth it. My kid's mood and sleep improved noticeably when we went back to the stricter schedule.

Been there. The guilt of saying no is real but boundaries actually make kids feel safer. Plus Roblox will always be there asking for more time no matter what limit you set.
