Screen time during school year vs summer

We keep the rule of max 2 hours after homework during the school year but summer just feels different. Kids are bored, it's hot, and honestly I'm tired of entertaining them constantly. We've bumped it to maybe 3-4 hours on some days. My wife feels guilty about it. I'm trying to do outdoor stuff too but rainy days happen. Are we being too loose with it or is summer different? Trying to find the balance between letting them relax and not raising zombies.

Summer screen time is the eternal parenting debate. I think the key is finding other stuff to do that's actually engaging. Parks, camps, anything really.
Yeah the 2 hour rule during school makes sense because you've got homework and bedtimes and structure. Summer is chaos. Maybe set a slightly higher limit but still have some kind of rule?
