Screen time during sick days - do you relax the rules?

My 6yo has been home sick for 3 days with a stomach bug and I've basically let her watch unlimited iPad because at least she's resting and not running around making things worse. My wife thinks I'm setting a bad precedent but honestly when your kid is miserable I feel like a little extra screen time is justified. Am I being too lenient or is this actually reasonable parenting?

Three days isn't going to ruin her. I let mine veg out completely when they're sick. The quiet is honestly a bonus when you're not feeling well. Once she's better you can reset back to normal rules.

Don't feel bad about it. Your kid is sick and needs to chill out. Screen time during illness is totally different than normal days. Just get her healthy again and go back to your regular limits.

I completely relaxed the rules when my daughter was sick last month. She watched Disney+ for like 8 hours straight and you know what? It actually helped her rest. Rules can go back to normal once she's healthy.
