Should I let my 8 year old have a gaming PC?

His friend group is all playing Roblox together and he's been begging for weeks. I'm torn because I don't want to be that dad who keeps him from hanging out with his buddies, but I'm also worried about screen time and making sure he's not getting into sketchy stuff online. What's the age when most of you let your kids start doing this? And what controls do you use to keep an eye on things?

We got our oldest a basic gaming setup at 8 and set some solid time limits. Roblox is pretty tame compared to other stuff, and honestly it's nice when he's gaming because I can actually paint without someone wanting to help.

The FOMO is real, man. My kids would've felt left out too. I'd say go for it but maybe start with a refurbished laptop instead of a full PC rig, gives you an easy out if it becomes a problem.
