Found my 10 year old on his tablet at 11 PM last night when he was supposed to be sleeping. Said he was just playing one more game. I've set parental controls but he keeps figuring out the passwords. How do you actually enforce this stuff without becoming the bad guy every night?
My kid tried the same thing. We use an app now that shuts everything down at 9 PM. No exceptions. Works like a charm.
11 PM is way too late. That's when the stuff he shouldn't see gets worse too. You need a charging station outside his room, period.
Kids that age need to learn boundaries exist for a reason. Loss of tablet privileges for a week should be the consequence, and then maybe keep it in a charging station outside his room at night. You have to control the environment, not just the kid.
11 PM is way too late for screen time. I'd be more concerned about the sneaking part than the game itself honestly. That's a trust issue that needs addressing before it becomes a bigger pattern.

The sneaking is the real red flag here. He knows the rule and he's choosing to break it anyway. I'd have a serious talk about why he felt the need to sneak around, and then put some real consequences in place that make sense.
