Son wants a gaming PC, should I let him?

My 12 year old has been asking for a gaming PC for months. All his friends have one and he says he feels left out at school. I'm worried about screen time and him getting into something too intense. He's been good about homework and his grades are solid. Is this a slippery slope or am I being too paranoid? Looking for real talk from other dads who've been through this.

I get the peer pressure thing, but 12 is still young. I'd say set some ground rules first - maybe limit it to weekends or tie it to grades. My son spends half his time in the garage with me anyway, so we found a balance that works.
