Success story: ditched the tablet at dinner
Finally did it. No more iPads at the dinner table and honestly it's been amazing. First week was rough, the kids complained constantly. But now we're actually talking and laughing instead of everyone being in their own world. My 7yo told jokes for 10 minutes straight last night. Why did it take me so long to do this?
YES. We did this three months ago and it's genuinely one of the best parenting moves we've made. Everyone actually talks at dinner now instead of just staring at screens. Took maybe two weeks for everyone to adjust but it stuck.
Respect for actually following through with this. So many people talk about doing it but don't. What did you replace the iPad time with? Curious how you kept them occupied while cooking or whatever.
