Using iPad for homeschooling, but kid just plays games

We got an iPad for learning apps and educational stuff but my 6 year old figured out how to get to YouTube Kids within like 2 days. He'd rather watch those weird unboxing videos than do his learning apps. It's become a screen battle every single day. Anyone have good educational apps that actually hold their attention?

Kids are too smart now. Mine figured out how to download apps around my parental controls. You gotta stay one step ahead but honestly it's exhausting.

Have you looked into apps like Screen Time or specific parental control apps? Some lock it down better than the built in stuff. At least for YouTube you can use YouTube Kids restricted.

This is the struggle. You give them a tool for learning and suddenly they're bypassing everything to watch YouTube. We had to get more restrictive settings on ours.
