What parental control app actually works?

Looking for recommendations for a parental control app that doesnt feel like spyware. Need something that can limit screen time, block inappropriate sites, and maybe track location on my 11 year olds phone. Hes responsible but his friends are all doing stuff online that worries me. I want to protect him without making him feel like I don't trust him. Whats everyone using?

We use Bark and it's been solid. Not spyware feeling - more like guardrails. You can see what they're doing without being creepy about it, and it catches stuff automatically. Worth checking out.

The balance between safety and trust is everything here. Whatever you pick, talk to your kid about why you're using it. Makes it way less resentful.

Circle is what we landed on. Does content filtering, screen time limits, and pause ability. Not cheap but it actually works without feeling invasive. Set it up together with my son so he understood it wasn't spy stuff.
