What parental controls are actually worth it in 2024?
Looking to get my 10yr old his first phone soon and I want to lock that thing down tight. Been reading about Bark, Life360, Google Family Link... there's so many options. Which ones do you guys actually use and recommend? I'm less worried about him finding porn and more worried about him getting scammed or bullied. Budget isn't really an issue if it actually works.
The lock it down tight approach makes sense at first but I've found you also need to teach them why the boundaries exist. My oldest's first phone got every control possible and then at 14 when we loosened things up he made terrible choices because he'd never learned to manage freedom. Just something to think about alongside the tech.
