Which coding apps for 9yr olds are actually worth it?

Looking at Scratch, Code.org, Coddy, and probably 10 others. He's interested but I don't want to drop money on something he'll use twice. Has anyone had real success with these? Does one stand out as better for keeping a kid engaged? He likes games and logic puzzles if that helps narrow it down.
