Set it up for my 4yo but there are still some sketchy videos getting through sometimes. Has anyone found better parental controls? Using it on our old iPad as a backup when we need him occupied at appointments and stuff.
Nap time is when I deep dive into these settings myself. I'd suggest also blocking specific channels that slip through - you can do that in the parental controls. Takes a few minutes but prevents headaches later.
Same issue here with my 4yo. I started manually reviewing the recommended videos before letting her watch and it's been a game changer. Takes a few extra minutes but way less sketchy stuff gets through.

YouTube Kids has been frustrating for us too. Have you tried turning off the search function entirely and just sticking to curated playlists? Way more control that way, even if it limits options.
