YouTube Kids is driving me crazy with the algorithm

Let my 6 year old watch what I thought was safe content on YouTube Kids and somehow he went from Bluey to these weird robot videos that look like they're made in someone's basement. The whole app feels like a minefield. Does anyone actually trust it or are we all just using it as a babysitter anyway?

Four kids here and I've given up trying to understand YouTube's logic. You're not alone in this, man. I just supervise way more closely now and honestly we watch more regular TV than I'd like to admit.

Yeah, YouTube's algorithm is wild. My 6 year old went from Bluey to some weird stuff too and I had to just start being more selective about what I actually let him click on. Sometimes YouTube Kids isn't as safe as it sounds.
