YouTube safety - caught something disturbing

Walked by my 9yo's room yesterday and saw something on his screen that looked... off. Some "family friendly" video with weird animations that seemed designed to creep kids out or trigger anxiety. Dug into his history and found like 20 similar videos. I know about the algorithm rabbit holes but this stuff felt deliberately unsettling. Turned on restricted mode and we had a talk about choosing videos intentionally instead of just clicking "recommended." Anyone else run into this? What's your move when you find stuff like that?
