Decided to start praying with my kids at dinner

Started something new last week where we all pray before dinner and my youngest actually volunteered a prayer last night. He prayed for his friend's dog who was sick and I just sat there trying not to tear up. It was such a simple moment but I felt like I was actually doing something that mattered as a dad. We're reading a Bible story together after dinner now too. My wife says my attitude has even changed. Feeling blessed.

That's beautiful. My boys are getting older now but those dinner conversations are some of my favorite memories. Your youngest praying for his friend shows he's learning compassion, not just the prayers themselves.

This is awesome. We're still figuring out routines as a new family but hearing that your kid felt comfortable enough to lead a prayer is really special. You're building something meaningful there.
