Family prayer time suggestions that actually work
We've been trying to do family prayer before dinner and honestly it was feeling forced and awkward. The kids weren't engaged, my wife and I were rushing through it. Last week we switched it up and started doing it right after breakfast instead, and we made it more conversational. Everyone gets to share something they're thankful for or something they need prayer for. My 9 year old even started asking questions about what the Bible says about certain things. It's been a game changer for us. Thought I'd share in case anyone else is struggling with making it feel natural.
Nothing wrong with adjusting. I've learned that intentionality beats tradition every time with kids. If dinner prayer isn't landing, find what does work for your crew. Doesn't have to look like anyone else's family.
