Finally got my kids baptized and it was incredible

After months of talking with them about what it means, my 8 and 10 year old got baptized last Sunday. Seeing them make that choice themselves, not just because we pushed them, was one of the greatest moments of my life as a dad. My wife cried the whole time. We've been praying for this and watching them understand that commitment to Christ is theirs to make has been so humbling. Just wanted to celebrate with you guys.

This is so awesome. Did they understand what it meant before or did you have to keep explaining it? We've been thinking about this with our oldest but want to make sure they really get it.

This is so cool. Did you do the whole thing where you let them choose and understand what they were committing to? That's the part that gets me - seeing them actually grasp what it means instead of just going through the motions.

How did you approach the conversations with them leading up to it? I want to do something similar with mine eventually but I'm worried about making it feel forced or boring for them.

That's beautiful man. Congrats to your kids. I'm not there yet with my newborn obviously but hearing stories like this about families going through faith together is really encouraging.
