How are you guys actually leading by example?

Trying real hard to walk the walk with my kids but it's way harder than I thought. Like I tell them to be patient and kind but then someone cuts me off in traffic and they watch me lose it. My oldest called me out last week asking why he has to be nice if I'm not. Don't know how to explain hypocrisy to a 7 year old without sounding like a hypocrite. Anyone else struggling with this?

Man this hits hard. I tell my daughter to be kind and then I lose my patience over spilled milk. Working on it every single day and honestly some days I feel like I'm failing.

This right here. I struggle with this too. I think the key is showing them you mess up and then actually work to be better. That's probably the real lesson anyway.

The gap between what we tell them and what we do is something I think about constantly. I'm only 6 weeks in but already seeing how much they just watch everything we do.
