How do I teach my kids about faith without forcing it?

My oldest is starting to ask questions about God and the Bible but also seems skeptical about some stuff we've taught him. I want to encourage him to think critically and seek truth but also don't want to undermine his foundation. My wife thinks I'm overthinking it but I feel like this is important. How have other dads handled this with their kids as they get older?
