How do I teach my kids to actually live their faith instead of just saying prayers?

So my 8 year old asked me yesterday why I get angry at other drivers but we pray about patience at church. Totally called me out and I had no good answer. I've been thinking about it all day. I want to raise kids who actually believe this stuff, not just memorize verses. How do you guys model genuine faith for your kids without coming across as preachy or fake? I feel like they're watching everything I do way more than listening to what I say.
